Everything You Need To Know About The Vampire Facelift

There are currently countless, non-invasive ways for people to undo the aesthetic ravages of the normal aging process. If you have ever heard of the vampire facelift, then you probably think that there’s a whole lot of blood involved due to its deceptive moniker. In reality, however, you will merely be using plasma from your own body to trigger the natural healing and restoration processes.

Unlike conventional facelifts, there isn’t any cutting or tissue removal which results in little downtime afterward.  Instead, this is an incredibly fast procedure and one that will leave you looking and feeling refreshed. As such, you can usually return to your normal activities as soon as your treatment is complete.

During these procedures, a small amount of your blood is removed from your body via an IV system. This sample is placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood so that the platelets are extracted. This platelet-rich plasma or PRP is then injected back into your body, but at select areas across the visage that are showing the signs of aging.

More often than not, the injections of PRP will also be combined with injections of a high-quality dermal filler. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid in many cases, which is a substance that naturally exists right at the foundation of the dermis. This combination helps provide structural support even as it fills in facial hollows, deep creases and other evidence of static wrinkling.

You may experience some redness and swelling at the injection site. This reaction is typical and will dissipate all on its own within a matter of hours. As the results begin to manifest, your skin will look plumper, smoother and far more elastic.
